Frequently Asked Questions

Traditional metal runners won't fit in Kallax units. The internal width (335mm) minus runner space (54mm) leaves only 281mm - too narrow for 12" records (315mm). Additionally, Kallax panels are thin veneer over particle board, too weak to support the screws and weight that metal runners require.
These drawers are designed specifically for IKEA Kallax units. They might work in custom builds with identical internal dimensions (335mm x 335mm), but we can't guarantee compatibility or performance outside of Kallax systems.
The steel base handles up to 30kg without flexing. However, Kallax units are only rated for 13kg maximum load per compartment. Ensure your Kallax is properly installed and undamaged before use. Please refer to the Legal Disclaimer below.
They're semi-permanent. The felt runners use strong adhesive for smooth operation, but removal will likely damage the Kallax's thin veneer coating. Once installed, consider them permanent fixtures.

Usage and Risk Warning
Use at your own risk. While damage is highly unlikely, the felt runners required for installation may remove the paper veneer from IKEA Kallax furniture when removed. IKEA Kallax officially supports 13kg per compartment, however a Klaxxon drawer filled with vinyl records weighs approximately 25-30kg. Most record collectors already exceed this official weight limit, but the Klaxxon's sliding mechanism creates different stress patterns than stacked records. Neither FNRBLR nor IKEA accepts responsibility for any damage to furniture or injury resulting from use of this product.
Furniture Safety
Always ensure furniture is properly secured to prevent toppling, especially when using stacked configurations. For more information on furniture safety, visit Product Safety Australia.
